Lake Land College, KC Summers host Meet and Greet with Ed Begley, Jr.

Lake Land College in coordination with KC Summers will host a Meet and Greet Reception with actor and environmentalist Ed Begley, Jr. The event will be held on Tues., March 4 from 5 – 7 p.m. at the KC Summers Toyota Show Room, 117 S. 19th St., Mattoon.
Begley is the keynote speaker for Lake Land’s Energy Innovation Conference, which will be held Wed., March 5 from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. in the West Building on campus. He is currently one of the hottest speakers on eco-living in America. His theme, Live Simply So That Others Can Simply Live, has been received by standing ovations at over 200 events in just the last four years.
“The Meet and Greet Reception is a great opportunity for area community members to attend,” said David Turnbull, Energy Innovation Conference Committee chair person. “It gives folks who might not be able to attend the day-long conference a chance to learn about sustainable living and become acquainted with Mr. Begley.” 
A formal presentation by Begley will begin at 5:45 p.m. at the Meet and Greet.

The Energy Innovation Conference covers a wide array of topics including geothermal heating, solar and wind energy, technician and job training, sustainable industry information and projections, bio-mass, sustainability and green businesses. Conference topics are designed to meet the interests of contractors, educators, business owners, facility managers and farmers. The conference is free and open to the public.
