Lake Land College announces spring GED class schedule

Lake Land College’s Adult Education is offering GED classes throughout the Lake Land College district. Find a class near you and be on your way to reaching your college and career goals!

In Arthur, GED classes will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5-9 p.m. at the Arthur Public Library, 225 S. Walnut St. 

In Charleston, GED classes will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Coles County Health Department, 825 18th St. There will be two sessions of the class. The morning session will run from 8 a.m. until noon and the afternoon session will be held from 5 – 9 p.m. 

In Cowden, GED classes will be held Mondays and Thursdays from 5:30 – 9:30 p.m. at the Community Center on W. Locust St. 

In Effingham, two sessions of GED classes will be offered at the Kluthe Center, 1204 Network Centre Dr. On Monday, Wednesday and Friday, class will be held from 8:30 – 11:30 a.m. On Monday and Wednesday, class will be held from 4 – 8 p.m. 

In Marshall, GED classes will be held Mondays and Wednesdays from 4:30 – 8:30 at the Eastern Region Center, 224 South Sixth St.

In Mattoon, GED classes will be offered at the Adult Education Center, 1617 Lake Land Blvd. during two different sessions. On Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, class will be held from 9 a.m. to noon. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, class will be held from 5 – 9 p.m. 

In Shelbyville, GED classes will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays at the Shelby Christian Church, 200 N. Hickory, from 5:30 – 9:30 p.m. 

Two GED class sessions will be offered in Paris. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, class will be held at the First United Methodist Church, 324 W. Court St. from 8 a.m. to noon. On Mondays and Wednesdays, class will be held at the Human Resource Center, 753 E. Court St. from 4:30 – 8:30 p.m. 

GED classes have been redesigned into six-week modules and students will participate in orientation during the first class meeting. The following dates are for the spring 2014 modules:

Module 1:  January 13 – February 21

Module 2:  February 24 – April 4

Module 3:  April 7 – May 16

 

For the GED classes, students’ tuition will be waived and all class materials are provided. To find a GED class near you, for more information or to register call 217-235-0361.
