Lake Land College accepting proposals for child care provider on campus

Lake Land College is now accepting proposals from third-party child care providers to operate a licensed child care facility on its campus in Mattoon, located at 5001 Lake Land Blvd.

This facility will not only provide direct care for children, but it must also provide a quality practicum setting for students enrolled in the Early Childhood Education & Family Services Program as well as other individual courses requiring practicum experience such as physical education.

Contracts will be negotiated with the respondent that offers the greatest advantage to the college community and best meets the college’s minimum requirements for customer satisfaction, quality, service and support of college programs.

The college reserves the right to negotiate a final contract with the selected respondent and the services of the third party child care provider will operate under the Department of Auxiliary Services at Lake Land College.

A Performance Bond or a Letter of Credit from an approved financial institution will be required in 100 percent of the agreed amount due the college each year.  All costs for such instruments shall be borne by the vendor.  No Performance Bond, Letter of Credit or Construction Forms need be obtained until the selected vendor receives a Notice of Award.

It is the college's intention to review proposals, complete contract negotiations and execute an agreement on or before Friday, Nov. 8. The college anticipates providing initial written notice to the selected respondent by Letter of Intent on or before Wednesday, Nov. 13. All respondents will receive written notification of this action.

The college looks forward to proposals with candid and concise responses with an executive summary and financial recap.

Respondents shall provide three (3) hard copies and one (1) electronic copy of its proposal in an envelope plainly marked RFP LLC-CSP "Childcare Service Provider Proposal" and received by the college before 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 15. Respondents are responsible for receipt of proposals on time and addressed to:

Ray Rieck, Vice President for Business Services

Lake Land College

5001 Lake Land Blvd.

Mattoon, IL  61938

No facsimile proposals will be accepted.

The proposal must be signed by an authorized agent for the respondent and include a fully executed Disclosure Statement in the forms attached and the first page of the proposal. Failure to do so will cause your submission to be considered non-responsive.

Interested parties are encouraged to conduct a site visit before preparing and submitting proposals. For inquiries, a copy of the entire Request for Proposals, or to arrange for site visits, contact: Ray Rieck, vice president for business services at (217) 234-5224 or
