Lake Land College invites public to meet seventh president

The Lake Land College Board of Trustees is hosting a welcome reception for the seventh president of Lake Land College, Jonathan “Josh” Bullock, on Thursday, Sept. 5 from 4 – 6 p.m. on campus in the West Building Atrium. Community members are invited to attend.

Bullock was named president on March 6 and took office July 1, following the retirement of Scott Lensink.

Bullock came to Lake Land from Moraine Park Technical College in Fond du Lac, Wis., where he served as the vice president for strategic advancement. He has an extensive background in strategic planning, new program development, marketing, grant funding and entrepreneurship.

Bullock has received several awards for his personal and professional achievements. The Fond du Lac Area Association of Commerce recognized Bullock as the 2008 Volunteer of the Year. In both 2006 and 2010, the Moraine Park Association for Career and Technical Education recognized Bullock for his leadership in linking career education within the district. Additionally, in 2010 he was recognized by the Wisconsin Association for Career and Technical Education for outstanding leadership in career and technical education throughout Wisconsin. He also received the 1997 Joint Venture in Education National Outstanding Facilitator of the Year Award for excellence in teaching from the New Ventures of Regis University.

During his short time as president, Bullock has been travelling the 15-county region that comprises the Lake Land College district, getting to know the communities and constituents of the college.

“It’s very important to me to know the people the college serves,” said Bullock. “Lake Land College is their community college and we want to know what they would like their college to be. Everyone at Lake Land is committed to delivering outstanding quality service and educational opportunities to students and I look forward to working together toward one goal, which is helping students succeed.”
