Lake Land College offers evening for-credit photography class
Earn college credit exploring a new hobby with Lake Land College’s “Introduction to Journalistic Photo.”
The class, taught by Duke Bagger, will meet from 6:30 – 10 p.m. on Thursdays throughout the semester. Through the course, students will learn basic photographic techniques, including uses of different types of cameras, principles of taking photographs, darkroom procedures for film development and printing, use of lighting, and journalistic ethics.
“I like to offer this as an evening course to accommodate those residents who just want to improve their photographic skills but have commitments during the day,” explained Bagger. “Even though it is a wet darkroom class, where students will develop film and make their own black and white prints, everything I present is about taking better pictures - meaning it all pertains to digital and motion photography as well.”
Bagger said that this class is a great opportunity for students who want to earn college credit, or who are interested in auditing the class simply to improve their photographic skills.
