Receive senior citizen tuition waiver at Lake Land College

At Lake Land College, there is a little something for everyone. From accounting to art and everything in between, there are opportunities for students pursuing a degree or for those interested in enhancing their skillset for personal enrichment. That’s why at Lake Land, area residents age 65 or older are eligible to receive a senior citizen tuition waiver.

“The process is fairly simple,” said Madge Shoot, comptroller. “All you would need to do is enroll in a for-credit class and file a tuition waiver form with the Accounting Office. Then, all tuition costs at the current tuition rate are completely waived.”

Students who apply for the senior citizen tuition waiver are still responsible for any fees associated with the classes in which they enroll and this opportunity is not valid with non-credit community courses offered through Community and Professional Programs, unless credit is offered through a particular class.

Currently, each credit hour at the college costs $87.50. An activity fee of $1.50 is associated with each credit hour in addition to a service fee of $18.80 per credit hour.

For a list of classes throughout the Lake Land College district, visit or call the Admissions Office at (217) 234-5434 to request a copy of the fall class schedule. For inquiries about the senior citizen tuition waiver, contact the Accounting Office at (217) 234-5214.
