Lake Land College Human Services Club makes donations to area non-for-profits

The Lake Land College Human Services Club recently donated $300 to two are non-for-profit organizations. The donation was made possible by fundraisers held throughout the school year including a bake sale and Celebrating Home and Scentsy products sale.

A donation in the amount of $300 was made to HOPE of East Central Illinois, an organization that provides housing, outreach, prevention and education for victims of domestic violence and the public in general.

Another donation in the amount of $300 was made to Effingham County FISH Human Services, an organization that provides assistance to families and individuals in need throughout Effingham County.

The Human Services Club provides students an opportunity to get involved in fund-raising and direct service activities for area agencies and groups who help others. Each semester the club members decide on the activities that they want to do as well as the agencies they will donate to. The Human Service Club is all about helping people and all students are welcome to join.
