Lake Land College Faculty Association raises money for scholarship at annual softball game

Each spring at Lake Land College, the Faculty Association and Student Ambassadors square off to raise money for the Lake Land College Faculty Association Scholarship. This year, the annual Faculty/Student Softball Game raised $1,813 for the scholarship. The event, in its 12th year, has raised $16,489 overall. 
For the first game, the faculty won 7-6 and the second game, the faculty won 10-2.  
“This is the faculty and students’ way of helping those who need assistance attend college,” explained Lisa Shumard-Shelton, director of new student admissions. “We work all year long to help raise funds which go to the Foundation, which grants the scholarship to deserving students.”
Members of the Faculty Softball Team include: Bryan Burrell, academic counselor; Greg Powers, radio/TV instructor; Dave Johnson, health and P.E. instructor; Greg Capitosti, chemistry instructor; Tina Moore, director of Career Services; Beth Hartrich, dental hygiene instructor; Matt Landrus, English instructor; Marc DalPonte, biology instructor; Eva Ritchey, speech communication instructor; David Seiler, history instructor; Casey Reynolds, English/Spanish instructor; Kristen Holsapple, dental hygiene instructor; Dirk Muffler, director of Pathways; Ken Beno, retired radio/TV instructor. 
The Student Softball Team includes: Evan Welz, Mattoon; Lucas Thomas, Charleston; Devin Ammann, Mattoon; Ashley Probst, Stewardson; Connor Biehler, Shelbyville; Felicity Shoultz, Mattoon; Hilary Rhode, Hume; Kolten Postin, Moweaqua; Tyson Schulte, Mattoon; Christopher Walk, Neoga; Kubra Iqbal, Mattoon; Brady McDowell, Brownstown; Kallie Koester, Effingham; Trey Leasher, Windsor; Dan Ammann, Mattoon; Tori Daniels, Strasburg; Cody Morris, Lerna; and Nate Bible, Louisville.
