Lake Land College hosts Agriculture Open House
The Agriculture Division at Lake Land College recently held an Agriculture Open House inviting area high school students to campus to learn about the opportunities and programs the division offers.
Throughout the day, students learned about careers and opportunities in the agriculture industry and got hands-on experience during the interactive breakout sessions. Specifically, students got to experience livestock judging, agriculture economics, agronomy, horticulture, John Deere technology and agriculture technology. Students also toured campus and had time to ask questions to the Lake Land College Student Ambassadors.
“We were pleased to have to many bright and excited high school students on campus today,” said Jon Althaus, division chair and instructor for agriculture. “Days like this are nice because young students can have a sneak peek at some of the areas they are already interested in, which helps them decide what they might want to study when they come to college.”
