Lake Land College seeks judges for regional science fair
Lake Land College will host the Illinois Junior Academy of Science’s Regional Science Fair for junior high and high school students on Saturday, March 2, and is seeking judges for the event.
Organizers for the fair are expecting 70 projects, representing 10 area schools. The event will take place in the West Building on the Lake Land College campus and will be held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The general public can view the projects from noon to 1 p.m.
Region Four Chairwoman of the Illinois Junior Academy of Science and Lake Land College chemistry instructor, Iffat Ali, said that having good judges is essential to the success of the fair.
“Parents, educators and anyone interested in science is welcome to come out to volunteer their time for this event,” said Ali. “Each volunteer will judge four to five projects in a team of two to three judges and judges will be given scoring tips and rubrics ahead of time.”
Also, volunteer judges will be provided with breakfast and lunch.
