As a member of the new Illinois Heartland Library System, Lake Land Library will be switching to a new catalog-- called SHARE-- during the spring semester 2013. When the move to the new system is complete, we will be able to provide access to over 4 times the number of libraries in our current catalog (LINC.)
However, during the transition from LINC to SHARE, some services will be affected. Here is a timeline of the transition:
March 14: Holds will be turned off in LINC. Patrons will not be able to place requests until the new system is in place.
March 22: ALL unfilled holds in the system will be deleted and will not come back. We recommend that library users check their accounts and print a list of their holds that they will want to request again.
March 22 - April 8: The LINC catalog will be in search-only mode, which means you will not be able to login or check your account status. Shelf status – whether an item is on the shelf or not – may no longer be accurate.
April 1 – April 8: You must have your library card to check out items. New users can not be added to the system, so if you do not already have a library card, you won't be able to check out any items.
April 9: SHARE goes live. Resume all regular services.
We will be trying to accommodate requests for materials from other libraries to the best of our ability during this time.
