Occasionally the Communications and Creative Services Office takes photographs of students in College for Kids classes. The photographs are used in the college's publications, brochures and website. They may also appear on social media sites. If you object to having a photograph of your child taken and/or used in this manner, please contact Community and Professional Programs at (217) 234-5219 prior to the first meeting of your child's class.

Kids College

Bff Girls Only

This class has a focus on things girls like to do with girlfriends. We will have a tea party, study Japanese floral design, paint with watercolors, do recycle sculptures and design cute chick art. We will decorate cupcakes and make tasty snacks as we play chef. Ages 4 & up.

Minecraft Animators

Bring your favorite Minecraft characters to life in an animated short film! Learn how studios like Pixar and Disney make movies like Inside Out and Frozen through using techniques like keyframing, tweening, texturing, and animating rigged 3D models! Student projects will be available on a Black Rocket website to share with friends and family. You do not need to own a Minecraft account to use the software in this class. Students will work in pairs or teams for most of the program. Ages 8-11

Summer Art & Science Camp

You will expand your imagination with multi-media art projects like wood sculptures, Japanese art forms and painting. Bird study and projects will be fun as you share with your friends. Yarn and bead projects will address your creative side. Daily snack will be created by you! Ages 4 & up.

Video Game Animation

Take your game design to the next level by creating and animating your own character sprites, objects, and backgrounds. Start with a name, develop the character's personality, signature moves, special powers, and a story line. Finish with a fully animated character to be used in future games. Students do not need any prior experience in game design, animation, or sketching. Student-created animations will be available on a password protected Black Rocket website to share with friends and family. Games are only compatible on PC computers; Mac versions can be created after the program for $15.00 conversion fee. Students will work in teams for most of the program. Ages 11-14
