BenchWorx is a mobile education program designed to introduce the art of woodworking to school age children. The classes are conducted in a custom designed trailer fitted with 16 woodworking stations, which have been designed to adjust in height to accommodate children of all sizes. Children will accumulate a working knowledge of techniques like sanding, sawing, shaping, drilling, setting screws, using clamps, hammering and incising. They will learn about different types of wood and design projects using wood, basic hand tools and their imagination. Creative problem solving is instrumental and will be utilized throughout the process of designing and building their wood projects. No experience is necessary and all tools and materials required to make the projects are provided. This session for ages 8-11.

Hunter Safety Education

This section is for individuals in need of obtaining a license. Learn basic firearm handling and safety. This IDNR-sponsored class meets the education requirement for obtaining a hunting license. A parent or guardian must accompany children 12 and under and register in the no license needed section. The class will meet Thursday and Friday from 6-9pm and Saturday from 8-4pm. Please bring a sack lunch on Saturday.
