BenchWorx is a mobile education program designed to introduce the art of woodworking to school age children. The classes are conducted in a custom designed trailer fitted with 16 woodworking stations, which have been designed to adjust in height to accommodate children of all sizes. Children will accumulate a working knowledge of techniques like sanding, sawing, shaping, drilling, setting screws, using clamps, hammering and incising. They will learn about different types of wood and design projects using wood, basic hand tools and their imagination.
