What is a scholarship?

Scholarships provide money for college that does not have to be repaid.

What types of scholarships are available?

Lake Land College Foundation

Each year the Lake Land College Foundation awards scholarships to more than 500 recipients.  Awards range from $100 to $2,000 per year.  All current students and students planning to attend Lake Land College are encouraged to apply.  Applications are due by March 1 of each year.  Visit the Lake Land College scholarship page for more details.

Private Scholarships

Many community organizations, banks, credit unions, clubs, fraternal orders, businesses, and employers sponsor a variety of private scholarships.  Students are encouraged to contact these organizations about scholarship opportunities.  High school guidance offices are an excellent resource for scholarship listings, searches, and assistance.  Many private scholarships are awarded well before the Fall semester begins, so students should start the search and application process early and pay close attention to deadlines.
