Orientation - Lake Land College, Mattoon Illinois

Placement Testing and New Student Orientation

All new certificate or degree seeking students are required to attend a New Student Orientation and have ACT or placement test scores on file. Scores are required for placement in appropriate courses to ensure academic success. During New Student Orientation, students will identify requirements for their degree, select courses for their first semester, learn how to register using the Internet and Information Registration System (IRIS), and register for classes.

During orientation, students will receive the Lake Land College Student Success Guide and a Lake Land College Catalog.

Please allow three to four hours to complete the New Student Orientation Program. Students taking the placement tests on the same day of New Student Orientation should plan on a full eight hour day to complete both events.

Information regarding how to schedule placement testing and/or orientation is sent to you via postal mail.
