        • Students may visit to schedule a visit anytime!
    • Chris Strohl (Director of Community Outreach) can bring Lake Land College students to come to your elementary school to read a story to different classrooms
    • New Mascot : Laker Louie
  • Dual Credit:
    • Career Academy 
      • 8 a.m. – 10 a.m. on Lake Land College’s campus
        • Will be based off of Lake Land’s calendar and not the high schools calendar
      • New Programs:
        • Computer Programming
        • Construction Trades
        • Manufacturing Skills
      • Lake Land College will pass the cost/bill onto the school. It is up to the school on how you will pay Lake Land College.
      • Ability for local businesses to offer scholarships to the students
        • For example, KC Summers in Mattoon helps the Mattoon Career Academy students
    • Orientation letters will be mailed out to high school seniors starting February 8th
    • Schedule your Dual Credit visit with Aubrey or Pam for the spring
  • Financial Aid:
    • Beginning 2017-18 school year, FAFSA will be available on October 1 (instead of Jan. 1)
      • Students will be able to use tax information from the previous year
      • Lake Land College’s Financial Aid Department will be contacting you starting in the spring semester to schedule your financial aid night (which will be moved up to October & December)
    • No change has been made to the 2016-17 FAFSA, so it will still be available on January 1st
  • Scholarships:
    • Foundation Scholarship
      • Available now starting November 1 until February 1
      • Students will know scholarship amount received by late April or beginning of May
    • Presidential Scholarship:
      • Now accepting forms for the class of 2016
      • Students meeting ACT score component can send forms now
      • Students meeting the class percentile component can send their forms in once 7th or 8th semester grades have been posted
      • Send forms to Michelle Zumbahlen
