The Start menu has some newer features in Vista. The Start button is now a round button in lower left corner of the desktop.
Once clicked the Start menu will appear. It will be similar to Windows XP menu with some minor differences. To view all programs click All Programs.

The items in the folder will appear indented from the folder. Click again to close. Click Back to return Start Menu. You can also use the search box to look for item by clicking in the box under All Programs and typing in a keyword to located a program, folder, or file.
To shut down a Vista computer click the Start button and over to right on Start menu click the arrow button and choose Shut Down.
