Creating Zip File in Windows Vista

The instructions below for creating the zip file are for Windows Vista.

  1. Open My Computer and navigate to the folder that contains the files and folders you wish to Zip.
  2. If you have more than one file select all the files and folders in the window by going to the Organize > Select All. Right-click over one of the selected files to display the shortcut menu and from the shortcut menu choose Send To > Compressed (zipped) folder.

    3. save as zip

  3. Windows Vista will create a zipped folder (icon displays with a zipper on it). The zipped file’s name will be created from the first file in the folder and have the extension .zip.
