Internet Explorer 7 - Java Settings
Java is required technology to access your Blackboard course. Below are the steps to enable Java in the Internet Explorer. It is important that only one version of Java is installed on your computer. If you are not sure, complete the browser tune-up at the following location, http://www.webct.com/tuneup .
Make Sure Java is Checked
- Go to Tools > Internet Options.
- In the Internet Options dialog box, click the Advanced tab
- Scroll down to you see Java (Sun). Make sure the check box next to Use JRE *1.5.0_11 for <applet> (Requires restart) is checked. If it is not checked, check it and reboot the computer.

Java Permissions
- Go to Tools > Internet Options.
- In the Internet Options dialog box, click the Security tab
- Click the Custom Level...
- In the Security Settings dialog box, scroll down to Java Permissions.
- The radio button next to High safety should be selected
- Click OK.
