Who's Online

What is Who's Online

Who’s online is a chat function that allows you to chat with other students enrolled in the same course(s) you are enrolled in within Blackboard. The Who’s online channel will display a count of how many other student are online in the Blackboard course. Click the course title to see a list of students who are online. Select the check box next to a person’s name and click Send Chat Invitation. If the other student accepts the invitation, the Who’s Online chat window will appear. Type a message in the bottom box and click Send.

Editing Online Status

By default your online status will be set to available. If you prefer not to chat, your online status can be changed from available to unavailable or invisible. To do this click the Who’s Online channel on the My LLC page or the link within your course on Course Tools menu. On the Who’s Online screen, click the pull down menu next to My Status and select the desired option. Click Update.
