What is a Blog or Journal Topic?

Blog & Journals are very similar tools to the discussion topics; however they are a bit different in how they function. Typically a blog is a collaborative blog (weblog) topic with chronological series of posts on a particular subject whereas a journal is typically a private area to post entries of writing samples. Both blogs and journals posts allow for adding comments to individual posts. The types of posting privileges may vary depending how the instructor has set up the blog or journal. Blog and Journal entries may be graded or peer reviewed. Be sure to check any assignment guidelines given by your instructor for the grading requirements for blog and journal postings.
