First student newspaper published (October 1, 1967): Called the Lake Land Press, a name voted on by the staff from a pool of ten possible choices, LLC’s first newspaper publication included a “President’s Column,” a story about the school’s first-ever social event, and information for young men concerned with the draft. Steve Daughtry was Press’ editor, while Joan Raymer and Clifton DeBates served as its advisors.
