Livestock judging team wins national competition (November 18, 1995): At the North American International Livestock Expo (NAILE) in Louisville, Kentucky, John Althaus’s students accomplished a goal the distinguished program had yet to achieve in 25 years: winning a major national contest. The NAILE is recognized as one of the “premier” livestock judging contests in the country, and the students’ performances—they set a record for total points—ultimately allowed the program to recruit with a “national scope.”
