Open House celebrates the opening of the Western Region Center Addition in Pana (September 21, 2009): The Open House was the culmination of a partnership between Lake Land College and the Pana school district, which added nearly 75% more space to the pre-existing extension center. Federal funds for the addition were also secured. The Western Region Center—affectionately referred to as the “Gas Station College” by some students and faculty—was home to a variety of classes, including adult, nursing, and vocational courses, and the added space created room for five new classrooms.
