Lake Land College Alumni Association to host second annual scholarship 5K

Dust off your running shoes and join the Lake Land College Alumni Association for its second annual Scholarship Run for Fun 5K. The event will be held Saturday Sept. 27, beginning at 8 a.m. Check-in time for runners will begin at 7:15 a.m. 

The 5K cross country race course, approximately 3.2 miles, will take place on the Lake Land College campus, spanning its beautiful 317 acres. The cost to participate is $25 per runner.

All proceeds collected from the Run for Fun 5K will be donated to the Lake Land College Foundation in support of Lake Land College Alumni Scholarship.
 
A first place award will be given to a male and female runner in each age bracket. Age brackets are as follows: 17 and under; 18-25; 26-35; 36-45; 46-55; and 55 and over. 

Participants can register online at www.lakelandcollege.edu/alumni or download a paper application at that same website. Cash or checks will be accepted with the paper registration form and credit cards are accepted for online registration. Fees are due at the time of registration. Participants familiar with www.active.com may also register through that site. Search “Lake Land College.”

The Lake Land College Foundation was established exclusively for educational, scientific and charitable purposes. The Foundation assists the College in developing and enhancing the educational opportunities and service to its students, alumni and citizens of the district. The thrust of the Foundation is to provide student scholarships through funds contributed by individuals, agencies and corporations. The Foundation awards on average 400 scholarships every year, totaling $360,000. All proceeds from the Scholarship Run for Fun will go to the Lake Land College Foundation.
