Easton Corbin holds Illinois FFA Forum at Lake Land College
Former FFA member and Ram Truck brand “Year of the Farmer” Spokesman Easton Corbin rocked the house at Lake Land College on Wednesday, entertaining high school students from more than 30 Illinois FFA chapters.
This was Corbin’s first stop at a college during his 12-city national Year of the Farmer tour on behalf of Ram and FFA. In each market, a private event is held exclusively for FFA members with Corbin performing songs and answering questions from the audience.
Corbin’s visit and concert is part of the Ram Truck brand’s “Year of the Farmer” initiative aimed at bringing national attention to the significance of the American farmer, which was launched in February with the brand’s much talked about “Farmer” video airing during the Super Bowl television broadcast. The video was set to Paul Harvey’s eloquent “So God Made a Farmer” words first spoken at the 1978 National FFA Convention. The year-long initiative demonstrates the brand’s commitment to the American farmer and the agriculture industry. The partnership addresses the growing needs of the world. By 2050, there will be 9 billion mouths to feed, backs to clothe, and people to shelter.
Addressing these needs is not going to be an easy task. However, through the support of companies like the Ram Truck brand, and harnessing the passion of the American farmer and agriculturalists across our nation, FFA members who are future agriculturist, food producers, food processors and scientists will meet these challenges.
Mercury Nashville recording artist Easton Corbin is lauded for his traditional country sound, authentic lyrics and mastery of understatement. His self-titled debut album released in 2010 spawned back-to-back hits “A Little More Country than That” and “Roll With It,” making him the first country male artist in 17 years to have his first two consecutive singles reach number one. That same year, the Gilchrist County Florida native won all of the Breakthrough Artist awards at the American Country Awards – Artist of the Year: Breakthrough Artist, Single of the Year: Breakthrough Artist and Music Video: Breakthrough Artist for “A Little More Country Than That.” Billboard named Corbin as the Top New Country Artist of 2010. His latest single, “All Over the Road,” placed number three on the country airplay charts and is from his current album by the same name.
