Lake Land College Community Choir to perform at Celebrate Downtown Mattoon festivities

The Lake Land College Community Choir will perform as part of the Celebrate Downtown Mattoon festivities. The performance is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 6 at the First Christian Church, 1600 Wabash Ave., Mattoon. The performance will highlight Christmas and holiday favorites along with family favorites.

Under the direction of Nancy Caldwell, music instructor, the Community Choir is a choir of mixed voices including students from the college as well as members of surrounding communities such as Mattoon, Charleston, Effingham, Casey, Neoga, Arthur, Sullivan and Windsor.  Ann Roedl of Effingham accompanies the choir.  The Community Choir was formed in January of 1998 and performs two concerts annually at the college in addition to other performances throughout east central Illinois.

Celebrate Downtown Mattoon offers community members and interested parties a chance to join the downtown businesses for extended shopping hours, holiday treats, a horse and wagon ride, a live nativity scene, and crafting activities, among much more.

For more information about the Lake Land College Community Choir and its upcoming performance, contact Caldwell at (217) 234-5464 or ncaldwel@lakeland.cc.il.us.
