Lake Land College invites you to an Italian getaway

Experience Italian food, wine and culture on a nine-day excursion with the Apicius International School of Hospitality.  The trip is scheduled from March 7 – 15 and adventurers will tour Renaissance Florence, visit the San Lorenzo Fresh Food Market, visit the Uffizi Art Gallery, participate in kitchen workshops and wine tastings, and enjoy free time to explore the beautiful sites.

The cost of the trip is $2103 which includes hotel accommodations, private transport for ?eld trips and a variety of meals. Travel benefits include HTH worldwide health insurance for participants, cell phones for students (outgoing calls will be charged individually), free Internet access in school facilities and accompaniment by art history guides and experts during visits and ?eld trips.

“To be able to see and experience Italy in a total immersion setting is truly an opportunity of a lifetime,” said Chris Kramer, trip advisor and organizer. “Participants will have an art historian at their side as they immerse themselves at the Uffizi and an Italian chef will teach them how to make pasta from scratch, to name a few of the planned activities. The streets come alive as adventurers tour the streets of Florence with a professional in Italian history – the detail, the history, the meaning behind symbols and statutes!”

This trip is open to all Lake Land College residents. Current student status at the college is not required. A non-refundable deposit in the amount of $1,052 is due on Jan. 7, with the full balance being due on Feb. 7.

This trip is sponsored by Lake Land College through Community and Professional Programs along with the Apicius International School of Hospitality. For more information, or to sign up, call 217-234-5475.
