Lake Land College to host Robert Dubois for Veterans Week

Former Navy SEAL and author of “Powerful Peace,” Robert Dubois, will speak at the Lake Land College Theater in honor of the college’s annual Veterans Week celebrations. The event will take place Wednesday, Nov. 13 at 11 a.m. It is free and open to the public.

DuBois is a security and policy advisor who was labeled a "smart power authority" while assisting U.S., British and Iraqi forces in Baghdad. A multilingual Navy SEAL with professional experience in more than thirty countries, he retired from military service in 2006, but headed back to Iraq and Afghanistan in support of commanders struggling with complex threat situations.

DuBois has presented his "Think like the Adversary" workshop to military units in the hottest combat zones, Fortune 500 corporate customers, and government organizations from the National Counterterrorism Center to the Fort Knox Mint Police. He has served on the Deputy Secretary of Defense's Senior Integration Group and directed operations for the Department of Defense.

DuBois is currently Chairman of the Health and Human Services Committee of the Homeland Security Foundation of America. Founder and CEO of SEAL of Peace Consulting, DuBois lives with his family in the Washington D.C. area.

After his session, Dubois will be available to sign books and will also meet with Lake Land’s Collegiate Veterans Alliance.

Lake Land College has been designated as a 2014 Military Friendly School by Victory Media, the premier media entity for military personnel transitioning into civilian life. The college is ranked in the top 20 percent of colleges, universities and trade schools in the country that are doing the most to embrace military service members, veterans and spouses as students and ensure their success on campus.
