Lake Land College Alumni Association to host scholarship 5K

Dust off your running shoes and join the Lake Land College Alumni Association for its Scholarship Run for Fun 5K. The event will be held Saturday Sept. 28, beginning at 8 a.m. Check-in time for runners will begin at 7:30 a.m. 

The 5K cross country race course, approximately 3.2 miles, will take place on the Lake Land College campus, spanning its beautiful 308 acres. 

All registered participants will be entered to win a tuition waiver for three credit hours. The tuition waiver is able to be transferred to a friend or family member, or donated back to the Foundation for a current Lake Land College student. 

The cost to participate is $20 for current LLC students and alumni, if registration is placed on or before Sept. 16. The late registration fee for current LLC students and alumni is $25. Cost for the general public is $25. 

All proceeds collected from the Run for Fun 5K will be donated to the Lake Land College Foundation in support of Lake Land College Alumni Scholarship.

A first place award will be given to a male and female runner in each age bracket. Age brackets are as follows: 17 and under; 18-25; 26-35; 36-45; 46-55; and 55 and over. 

Cash or checks will be accepted with the paper registration form. Fees are due at the time of registration. Registration forms can be accessed online at www.lakelandcollege.edu. Select the “Alumni Scholarship Run for Fun” link under Special Events. Checks can be made payable to: Lake Land College Foundation. Mail the payment and registration form to:

The Lake Land College Foundation was established exclusively for educational, scientific and charitable purposes. The Foundation assists the College in developing and enhancing the educational opportunities and service to its students, alumni and citizens of the district. The thrust of the Foundation is to provide student scholarships through funds contributed by individuals, agencies and corporations. The Foundation awards on average 400 scholarships every year, totaling $360,000. All proceeds from the Scholarship Run for Fun will go to the Lake Land College Foundation.
