Lake Land College Kluthe Center offers early bird speech class
Rise and shine with Lake Land College and knock out your college class before 8 a.m.!
The Lake Land College Kluthe Center in Effingham is offering an early bird speech class, beginning Thursday, Aug. 22. Intro to Speech, SPE111-30896, will be offered from 6:45-7:35 a.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
According to Karen Kull, director of the Kluthe Center, this is a great way to receive college credits for those working or already enrolled in high school.
“For high school students, they can come to the Kluthe Center and take this class before their school day begins, or for those working, this is a great way to get class out of the way and still make it to work on time,” said Kull.
Kull also added that some area high schools are no longer offering speech classes, a requirement for most undergraduate degrees.
Class starts next week, but there is still time to register. For more information, contact the Kluthe Center at 217-540-3501. To register, contact Admissions and Records at 217-234-5058, or visit www.lakelandcollege.edu.
This early bird class was created in response to community requests. Area businesses or school districts are encouraged to contact the Kluthe Center with other requests for classes that could be offered at alternative times.
