Classes are filling up, but it’s not too late to register for the fall semester at Lake Land College!

Fall classes begin Thursday, Aug. 22 and the last day to register is Wednesday, Aug. 21. Students can contact Counseling Services at 217-234-5232 or for additional information regarding the enrollment process or to schedule an appointment to meet with a counselor.

Counseling walk-in hours are 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday until August 15 and Monday through Friday during the week of August 19 through 23.  Extended registration hours will be held Aug. 21 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. in the Luther Student Center on campus in Mattoon.

Book pick-up will run from Aug. 17 through Aug. 23.  To pick up books, students need to bring their Lake Land College student I.D. card as well as their book list. To access book lists, students should log-on to their IRIS account to print their lists at

Rented textbooks will be delivered to off-campus locations for all students who have off-campus classes only or off-campus classes and online classes only. Students with both on and off-campus classes must still pick up their books at the Bookstore; books will not be delivered to their off-campus classes. All purchased textbooks must be picked up at the Bookstore. Students with online classes can pick up their books at the Bookstore for Internet classes or have the option of purchasing them on their own from a different vendor. All book information for online classes is available at

The Bookstore is located on the south end of the northwest parking lot of the main campus. If students have a credit balance on IRIS, they can use it to purchase books and supplies. Be sure to check your account balance on IRIS before heading to the Bookstore!

Lake Land College is among the few colleges and universities across the United States that has a textbook rental system. All students pay a service fee which includes the purchase of textbooks. It is estimated that a full-time Lake Land student may save up to $1200 a year using the textbook library service versus purchasing their books.

Please note that on Aug. 21, all college offices will be closed from 8-10 a.m. Services will resume at 10 a.m. The new student celebration and Welcome Day will be held Aug. 28.
