Lake Land College offers Indiana students exceptional education, transfer opportunities

Lake Land College in Mattoon, Ill., offers many advantages over four-year universities including lower costs, smaller class sizes and a greater degree of flexibility. Only about 60 miles from the Indiana border, the college offers classes close to home at convenient times and locations, too.

Likewise, for students in the Indiana counties of Vigo, Clay and parts of Parke and Vermilion Counties, the college offers a lower tuition rate for these out-of-state students. The tuition rate for students of these counties is $211.42 per semester hour versus the $401.89 rate for regular out-of-state students.

Lake Land offers several transfer degrees, allowing students to complete their first two years of college-level coursework at Lake Land before continuing their education at a four-year college or university. Credits earned in the transfer programs are transferable to most four-year colleges and universities. Additionally, the college offers articulation agreements with four-year Indiana schools including Indiana Wesleyan University and Indiana State University.

For students in Indiana, Lake Land’s Eastern Region Center at the Forsythe Center, located in Marshall, Illinois offers both general education classes and vocational training classes, and is only about 20 minutes from the Indiana border.

Additionally, out-of-state tuition prices will be waived for students enrolling in courses offered via the Internet. Online students will pay the in-district tuition rate, a course fee of $65 plus the service fees, rec center fees, and activity fees per semester hour. Please note that some courses require campus visits for proctored tests and/or lab activities. The requirements can be reviewed on the instructor's welcome letter. Proctored tests require an appointment.
