Lake Land College offers Aroma Facials & Skin Care continuing education course
The Lake Land College Office of Community and Professional Programs will offer a for-credit course entitled “Aroma Facials and Skin Care” on Friday, April 5 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Kluthe Center in Effingham, room 104.
This seminar will be taught by Sara Holmes. Holmes obtained her Massage Therapy Certification and graduated with high honors from Parkland College where for the past six years she has taught Complementary Therapies in Healthcare. She also has a bachelor’s degree in Organizational Management from Greenville College, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. Holmes received an Aromatherapy Certification from West Coast Aromatherapy and an Aromatherapy Blending Certification from the Atlantic Institutes of Aromatherapy. She has been published in the International Journal of Professional Holistic Aromatherapy and has been a Certified and Registered Aroma Therapist since 2004 and is a National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork-approved provider for Continuing Education.
Participants of the seminar will learn how to determine which essential oils are best for certain skin types and skin conditions, and how to make and apply various blends. The seminar will include both lecture and lab time. Each participant will receive his/her own skin care kit.
The cost of the class is $99 (if registered by March 25) – CNC-020-29907 or $119 (if registered between March 26 and April 3) – CNC-020-29910. Registration includes all materials, continental breakfast, lunch, and a skin care kit. Massage therapists and estheticians will receive 8.5 continuing education hours.
