Application deadline nearing for Nail Technology and Esthetics/Skin Care program at Lake Land CollegeIf you’re looking for a short-term training program in the cosmetology field, now’s the time to apply to Lake Land College! Both the Nail Technology and Esthetics/Skin Care programs offer area residents an opportunity to train for a new career in less than a year. While the classes don’t start until August, the deadline to apply for these special admissions programs is May 1. The deadline for Cosmetology is April 1. Students in the Esthetics/Skin Care program attend college three days a week and are enrolled from August 2013 to August 2014. The cost is less than $5,500 for tuition, fees and equipment and financial aid is available to those who qualify. Students in the Nail Technology program meet three evenings a week from August to May. The cost of the tuition, fees and equipment is less than $2,500. Lake Land College’s cosmetology programs are an intense combination of classroom and hands-on experiences. By working in the Cosmetology Clinic their final semester hours, students gain valuable work experience. Nail technicians practice in a fully-equipped nail salon, complete with manicure and pedicure stations. Esthetics students provide a full range of skin care services to clients in one of two esthetic labs. Lake Land College offers a monthly payment plan called FACTS for all programs. A child care lab on campus is available for children who are potty trained. For an application packet, email Cosmetology Director Peggy Strange at pstrange@lakelandcollege.edu or call 217-234-5343.
