Lake Land College completes successful FY14 grant cycle

The Lake Land College Grant Office has completed another successful year of grant projects, bringing in more than $1.1 million in grant funding for the college.

Lake Land College receives Effingham County Chamber Member of the Month Award

President Josh Bullock recently accepted the Effingham County Chamber of Commerce Member of the Month Award on behalf of Lake Land College at the recent First Friday Luncheon hosted by the Effingham County Chamber of Commerce and held at the Keller Convention Center in Effingham. 


Lake Land College Community Choir begins rehearsals this month

The Lake Land College Community Choir will begin its fall rehearsals Tuesday, Sept. 30. Rehearsals are held on Tuesday nights in the Lake Land College Theater from 7-9:30 p.m.


Lake Land College to host Illinois Regional College Fair and Career Day

More than 1,500 junior and senior high school students will have the opportunity to meet with more than 35 college representatives this year at the annual Lake Land College Illinois Regional College Fair and Career Day, held Oct. 7 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Field House. 


Lake Land College’s Adult Ed enrolling for Mod II classes

With Mod II classes beginning October 20, it’s not too late to register for a GED course near you! The Lake Land College Adult Education Center offers local GED courses in your community and a variety of workforce training including health sciences, manufacturing skills and college preparation.  


Lake Land College honors Glazebrook with Exemplary Trustee Award

The Lake Land College Board of Trustees last night awarded Leland Glazebrook as a posthumous recipient of the Clem G. Phipps Exemplary Trustee Award. His surviving family members – Richard Glazebrook and wife Carol; Roger Glazebrook and wife Sara; Sarah Glazebrook-Perry and husband Todd; and Jim Glazebrook and wife Tena – received the award on his behalf.

Two hundred forty-four candidates received their degrees and certificates after the completion of the summer 2014 semester at Lake Land College.  The graduates are: 


Prospective students invited to Laker Visit Day

Visit Lake Land College and find out all the college offers at its annual Laker Visit Day. The event will be held Friday, Oct. 24 with registration being from 8 to 8:45 a.m. and activities running until noon.

Lake Land College welcomes new admissions representatives

Lake Land College is proud to announce and welcome Aubrey Frank, Mattoon, and Pam French, Newton, as new admissions representatives for the college. In this position, they will to plan and implement activities to inform potential students about Lake Land College and facilitate the application and enrollment process. Frank and French also will provide assistance to students enrolled in the college’s high school Dual Credit Program. 


Lake Land College announces practical nursing site review forum

The Lake Land College Nursing Department will host a site review for continuing accreditation of its Practical Nursing Program by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN). 


Lake Land College library to host presentation on K-12 learning standards

The Lake Land College Learning Resource Center (LRC) is hosting two discussions regarding recent changes to K-12 curriculum and the resources available to students, faculty and community members in order to better understand these new standards.

Lake Land College ranks well in national community college listing

Lake Land College is proud to announce and welcome Jacqueline Joines, Brocton, as the executive director for college advancement at Lake Land College. In this position, Joines will oversee alumni services, foundation operations and grant development.

The Commercial Driver Training (CDT) program at Lake Land College is offering a unique educational opportunity for the eastern portion of the Lake Land College district and Indiana residents – commercial driver’s training in Marshall, Ill. 


Lake Land College Alumni Association to host second annual scholarship 5K

Dust off your running shoes and join the Lake Land College Alumni Association for its second annual Scholarship Run for Fun 5K. The event will be held Saturday Sept. 27, beginning at 8 a.m. Check-in time for runners will begin at 7:15 a.m.
