Lake Land College Livestock Judging Team takes home championship title at national event
The Lake Land College Livestock Judging Team recently competed at the National Barrow Show in Austin, Minn.
The team took first place in the competition, marking the fifth time Lake Land College has won this event. In fact, Lake Land beat the runner-up by 24 points. In addition to winning the overall team title, Lake Land also placed first in reasons.
Individually, Shelby Peterson, West Point, Ill., won first place overall and Blake Ford, West Point, Ind., won second place overall.
Brenen Diesen, Highland, took seventh overall and Jordan Fledderjohann, Botkins, Ohio, took fourth overall in reasons.
Sophomore team members include: Blake Ford, West Point, Ind; Taylor Gamble, Lafayette, Ind.; Jordan Fledderjohann, Botkins, Ohio; Kyle Eischn, Greenfield, Ind.; Luke Furr, Shelbyville; Connor Biehler, Shelbyville; Evan Smith, DeMotte, Ind.; Brennen Diesen, Highland; Dan Ammann, Highland; Zach Rincker, Strasburg; Shelby Peterson, West Point, Ill.; April Gibson, Columbia City, Ind.; and Marie Lock, Avon.
The competition consisted of 11 teams from all over the United States and 90 individuals.
