Lake Land College offers continuing education seminar for dental professionals
The Lake Land College Office of Community and Professional Programs will offer a course entitled “Diabetes & Obesity – Oral Health Impact” on Monday, Oct. 7 from 5:30 – 8:30 p.m. in Webb Hall, room 081 on the Lake Land College campus.
The class will be taught by Carol Jahn, registered dental hygienist, and is designed to provide dental professionals with the tools needed to achieve successful oral health outcomes for patients who have diabetes or are at risk for diabetes. During the session, participants will identify risk factors and implement findings in oral health assessments, discuss the health related complications and consequences of diabetes and obesity, and discuss resources that can be used in daily clinical practice.
The cost of the class is $36, which includes materials and a light supper. Dental hygienists will receive three continuing education hours; however this seminar is open to other dental professionals and dental students.
