Lake Land College Child Care Lab accepting applications for fall
The Lake Land College Child Care Lab is currently accepting applications for enrollment for the 2013 fall semester. The lab is now open to all district citizens and no Lake Land College affiliation is required.
The Child Care Lab offers a unique child care setting and learning environment where children receive an advanced preschool education, leading to a successful transition into Kindergarten. The dedicated teaching staff uses creative and positive techniques to guide children educationally and developmentally.
Daily activities and lessons are kept fun and playful, while stimulating an excitement for learning. As a result, many children who have attended this program have been offered accelerated educational opportunities when they reach school age.
The Lake Land College Child Care Lab has been serving the child care needs of campus parents and families for the past 25 years. The lab differs from other facilities because of the hands-on learning experience it provides students in the Early Childhood Education and Family Services Program at Lake Land College. Although these students do not count in the teacher/child ratios, they do benefit from the experience of working alongside a qualified professional teaching staff. This helps the students gain practical skills and knowledge for educating young children.
The Child Care Lab is open to completely toilet trained children from two to five years old and IDHS funding is accepted for qualifying participants. There is also a scholarship opportunity available to help financially struggling families pay for a portion of the Child Care Lab fees.
