Human Services Program - Internship Information

Students enrolled in the Human Services
Program are required to complete two internships (Field Experience)
consisting of 150 clock hours each. A third internship is optional, in
place of an elective.

To be eligible for an internship a student
must have completed 30 semester hours of coursework, including Introduction
to Social Work (HSP120) and Social Welfare (HSP 122), as well as having maintained a 2.0 GPA.

To begin the process of setting up an
internship, students need to meet with the Internship Supervisor, around mid-term of the semester before they plan
to do the internship.

Students are required to have a signed
contract turned in before they are allowed to begin their hours.
Contracts will not be accepted after the last day
of classes, the Semester before you plan on completing your internship.
- A list of internship sites is available in the student handbook. This is not an exhaustive list. Students who want to go to a site not listed should see Helen Hendren , program coordinator.
