Library Instruction

Would you like your students to be able to find, use, and evaluate information better? Here's how you can have a librarian visit your class for a general or custom library session.

To Schedule a Session

If you would like to schedule a library instruction session for your class(es), contact the Reference Desk at 234-5440 or email Tim Schreiber at Please provide the following information:

  • Your name
  • The course you teach
  • When & where your class meets and what date(s) & time(s) you would prefer.
  • Whether your class meets in a computer lab. (If not, you can bring your class to the library computer lab, LRC 101)
  • Number of students in the class
  • What kind of instruction you would like, or the research needs of the course in general, so that I can best help your students.

Please Note:

It is our policy that instructors must be present during all library instruction sessions. As a guest speaker, librarians often don't know the students or have any real authority over them. We have found that the presence and participation of their regular instructor help to keep students attentive and engaged in the session.
