What is the difference between honors courses and standard courses?

Honors courses challenge students to take their education to a higher level. Typically, honors courses consist of more writing, problem-solving, critical thinking, and discussions than standard courses. Students pursue ideas in-depth and go beyond the standard texbook material. The skills and recognition earned in the honor courses aid students in their academic and career goals.

What is honors independent study?

The honors independent study's aim is to develop a student's creativity and individuality. Students complete an honors independent study under the guideance of a faculty member. It results in a scholarly paper, a research project or visual/performance/ fine art project. The essential feature of any honors project is that it meets the highest standards of the chosen discipline.
