The Desktop Publishing program is for individuals who are creative and enjoy working on the computer. Lake Land College offers a degree and a certificate option both of which blend desktop publishing and web page design training with the latest trends in office technology.
Desktop publishing majors create original designs with plenty of hands-on training using the latest versions of Microsoft Office, InDesign, QuarkXpress, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Dreamweaver. Through a print seminar class, degree-seeking majors see their work go from the beginning creative efforts to the final printed page. The graphic design capstone class allows students to work in a simulated internship environment and complete projects for an actual business. At the end of the capstone class, students will have a completed portfolio of work to show to potential employers.
